I am so excited to begin a new blog series to highlight some of the amazing families (and beautifully styled homes) that I get to meet as a Castle Rock family photographer! First up is lifestyle newborn photos of a wonderful family from Parker, CO! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing these Colorado natives as a couple expecting their first baby all the way through welcoming their second baby home just this past Christmas.
Darcy and Mitch love to enjoy life with their children, Ellie and Beckham. Ellie is a bright shining light that brings joy to every situation and Beckham is their calm in all the chaos!
Beckham is so chill and happy and smiles the biggest when Ellie is playing with him. He slept during their lifestyle newborn session, so I can’t wait to see these two beautiful children interact together next time!
The Ottoson’s home is beautifully light and bright, and it is such a welcoming place. It’s clean and simple while also being cozy and homey.
They’ve made it a priority to create a home that people feel welcome and comfortable in. “We have put a lot of work into the feature walls in our home (shiplap in family room, board and batten in Beckham’s room, and wainscoting in Ellie’s room) and I love the custom look they provide. Doing these ourselves is so rewarding!” says Darcy.
Whether they are in their beautiful Parker, CO, home or adventuring together in the mountains or at the beach, their favorite place to be is “together.” As a young adult, Darcy lost her own mother, her best friend, to cancer. She explains, “I work toward being that parent that provides the structure and guidance they need while also being their best friend. We try to enjoy every moment and make lasting memories because we never know how long we will have together.”
