The Newborn Experience
When you step into my newborn studio, your family will immediately feel at ease. The beautifully styled sunroom looks more like a home than a bare backdrop. It's as cozy and bright as a favorite room in your own house. It's the perfect space to capture your baby's features and your family's connection with minimal distractions. You'll also find a separate spacious fitting room filled with dresses for you, outfits for babies and children, and even some shirts for dad (hello, time and money savings). These rooms and more are part of my home-based studio in Castle Rock, CO, and I am so grateful to share this designated professional space with you!

Searching for a Denver newborn photographer? With Photography by Alyssum, your newborn photo session is in my Castle Rock studio where you know you'll have perfect lighting, a beautifully cozy and textured backdrop, and full wardrobe ready and waiting.
Send me a message so we can start to discuss what's the best fit for you- a single session or the multi-session package. Packages ensure we don't miss anything important- from your bump, to your new baby, and even milestones throughout their first year.
1. Say Hello
I take a limited amount of babies each month to ensure the highest quality of service for each family. We'll reserve your spot on my calendar with just your due date. Babies come on their own time, so when baby arrives, you will reach out to me to schedule the date of your actual session! Most take place on weekdays at 10am.
Some families prefer to target those first couple weeks when baby is sleepy and fresh and both parents are home from work. Other families like allowing more time for mama's recovery and sibling's adjustment. Waiting until five weeks or older also allows for some newborn eye contact!
2. BOOK it
Once booked, you'll begin to receive all of my planning materials to make this process as stress-free as possible.
I'll provide a link to view my client closet, and you can send me any picks you might want to try. You are always invited you to come into the studio to meet me ahead of time and preview the client closet. Your body will be changing a lot, so this helps you feel confident in the available choices and have your undergarments planned.
Two weeks before your due date, you'll receive the prep guide once more along with a reminder let me know when baby arrives!
3. Planning it
This is, of course, my favorite part!
When you arrive at the studio, you can make yourselves comfortable in the private fitting room to get dressed for your session. I'll have your pre-selected wardrobe steamed and ready to go in there.
As I go through my workflow, I'll follow baby's lead as I move from wrapped baby poses (so good you'll take notes), natural beanbag poses, sibling snuggles, parents one-on-one, and of course lots of your family together.
Please feel free to feed baby (and siblings) as needed! Full bellies make happy people. We'll also keep the sunroom warm and full of white noise.
4. Your Session
After your session, I will gather the best images together in an online proof gallery. You will then select the images that you'd like me to hand edit and include in your fully retouched gallery.
Based on your favorites, you get to select which digital image package is best for you and add on any artwork. Your package is fully customizable, which means you only purchase what you'll treasure!
5. Your Photographs

My sessions always include digital images with every package. You'll also have exclusive, discounted access to my professional print lab. Your family photography will be passed on for generations, no matter how you choose to store and display it.

The photos and moments Alyssum captures are SO incredibly beautiful! I always feel like it's such chaos during the photos as we have two toddlers but Alyssum always manages to capture so many incredible shots that are truly reflective of this season of our lives. Our sessions with Alyssum are very relaxed, fuss-free and joyful while doing something that could be so much more stressful for mom and dad. In all honesty I dread family photos, but they were a breeze with Alyssum. We have one child diagnosed with autism and she did great at getting those rare shots of eye contact. I was also impressed with her ability to hold her camera and catch our son who jumped right in the water. She is extremely patient and I appreciate her willingness to get on our children’s level.

Alyssum is an AMAZING photographer. I just moved to the area a couple years ago and we had been flying back to California to have our photos taken with our long time photographer. I’m very picky and finding a good one is hard!! A few of our neighbors had used her and I LOVED her work. She is so talented and captures families so well. So glad we used her and will continue to do so. Already can’t wait for our next session. BUT, when you see her sessions come available you must book ASAP cuz she’ll sell out like that day! If we could give her 10 stars we would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
